Akeela Dental Care opened its doors in 1994, founded by Chief Doctors Dr. Faizur Rahmaan and Dr. Akeela Rahman — two young dentists with a single chair, a small clinic in T. Nagar, and a clear idea of the practice they wanted to build.

The early years were shaped by a simple philosophy that still guides the practice today — dependable dentistry, unhurried attention, and treatment plans built around the patient, not the procedure. It’s how Akeela earned its first generation of long-term patients.
As dental science advanced through the 2000s, so did we. The practice expanded from general dentistry into more specialised, technique-sensitive treatments — investing early in equipment and training most clinics of that era hadn’t yet adopted.
ADVANCED TREATMENT
Building on the ITI-Straumann training from Switzerland, implant dentistry grew into one of the practice’s core strengths through the 2010s — supported by an in-house laboratory and a decade of case experience across routine and complex rehabilitations.

Dr. Faizur Rahmaan is one of the founding doctors behind Akeela Dental Care and has developed extensive experience in restorative dentistry, prosthodontics and implant rehabilitation.
He trained in implant dentistry through ITI-Straumann, Switzerland, and has continued to develop expertise in advanced implant and immediate loading concepts.

Dr. Akeela Rahman is the co-founder of Akeela Dental Care and has been an integral part of the practice's development since its establishment in 1994.
Her contribution has helped shape the practice's patient-focused philosophy and commitment to comprehensive dental care.
Professor · Oral Pathology
Dr. Umadevi has over three decades of experience in dentistry and academics. She has served as Professor of Oral Pathology at Ragas Dental College and has approximately 25 years of teaching experience.
Her professional achievements include the Tamil Nadu Young Women's Scientist Award, Visiting Associate Professor experience at UCSF, Fogarty Fellowship experience and numerous academic publications.
She has also contributed extensively to research methodology, clinical research, biostatistics, postgraduate education and professional lectures.
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Sainath Matsa is an MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with fellowship experience in cleft and palate surgery at Goethe University Klinik, Frankfurt, Germany.
He has also pursued fellowship training in hair restoration in Colorado, USA, and has served as Professor and Chief In-charge of Cleft and Cosmetic Surgery at SRM Dental College.
He has been involved in national and international academic presentations, publications and professional organisations.
Professor · Orthodontics
Dr. M.K. Anand is an experienced orthodontist and professor at Ragas Dental College. He completed his postgraduate training in orthodontics at Ragas Dental College and his BDS from Annamalai University.
His professional interests include advanced orthodontic treatment planning, CBCT-based planning and infant orthopaedics for cleft cases.
Dental Programs & Patient Care
Dr. A D Senthil Kumar has been involved in dental education, patient care coordination, training and supervision of medical students and residents.
His responsibilities and experience include quality improvement, infection control, safety, health education, professional training, research support and patient care coordination.
Through the Cura Dental Foundation, Akeela Dental Care has been involved in providing dental care to children and senior citizens in orphanages and old-age homes.
The charitable initiative aims to extend access to dental care and awareness to people who may otherwise have limited access to professional treatment.
